Biography
I have worked in Michigan most of my career in different settings and with a variety of populations. I've supervised colleagues and interns for their social work experience and licensure. I am trained in and experienced in different modalities including CBT/DBT, TFT and have my PMH-C (Perinatal Mental Health - Certification). I've been a social worker for over 22 years and love being a part of people's journeys and helping them improve their lives! I have taught social work at SAU in the BSW/MSW programs since 2014, and thoroughly enjoy it. I am blessed to be able to teach remotely from Arizona now. I am a big believer in personal growth and self-development and love collecting inspirational sayings. In my spare time, I love spending time with family and friends. |
Education
MSW: Eastern Michigan University
BSW: Siena Heights University
Why SAU
I agree with Spring Arbor's concepts of “Jesus as the perspective for learning.” I am currently conducting research to measure how this concept is impacting our MSW students (stay tuned for results!) I feel that my work is not just a job, but a calling and I am able to live that out within my position here at SAU. I am glad to see Christian universities, like SAU, step up to be a participant in higher education. |
