Ҵý Recognizes Gould Legacy

Ҵý (SAU) alumni play a significant role in sculpting the student experience at SAU, ensuring that the institution stays true to its mission – offering a Christ-centered education to any student seeking a college experience built on a faith-based foundation.
This alumni profile recognizes two co-chairs of the campaign steering committee, Robert Gould ’76 and Sherry Roe-Gould ’79, as they continue to show their dedication to the mission of Ҵý – to the place that made a lasting impact on their lives and who God created them to be.
Robert and Sherry met at Ҵý (then College), studying in their respective fields, growing spiritually, and investing in their relationship with each other. The Spring Arbor community and their experiences at SAU helped them build a foundation in Jesus Christ as they started to live out their callings post-graduation.
Having great academic experiences as they learned from a Christ-centered perspective, Robert and Sherry are excited about the future of SAU as students grow deep roots and learn how to impact the world for Christ and his kingdom.
“Spring Arbor uniquely provides a generation of warriors, no matter their career choices, who have a life-long commitment to learning within the framework of Jesus Christ as the perspective for learning,” states Robert and Sherry. “God will honor an institution with that mission as he has done in the past.”
Robert and Sherry are committed to the Ignite campaign focused on SAU’s mission to make an impact on a lost and broken world for Jesus Christ. They recognize the importance of state-of-the-art technology for students training for careers in STEM fields, ensuring that graduates can participate critically in the contemporary world. Growth of the university’s endowment is another key factor of the Ignite campaign, as Robert and Sherry envision future generations of students who benefit from access to an affordable Christ-centered education.
The Ignite campaign, led by Robert and Sherry along with fellow co-chairs Ron and Marvel Jones, provides critical advancements and resources for students both now and for generations to come.
Guided by years of strategic planning, Ignite: The Campaign for Ҵý is raising crucial funds for the modernization and expansion of the Whiteman Gibbs Science Center, building a stronger endowment, and providing support for students both now and in the future through the Arbor Fund.
